Each pair has been individually numbered out of 300, with both versions being produced in the Scheinfeld factory in Germany. Both versions are exclusively sold at adidas Concept stores (No6 being the only UK stockist) in seriously limited numbers, so don’t snooze on these bad boys!

We also held a raffle that allowed one lucky person (#50) to win a pair completely free of charge, ending the event with a bang!

Once we returned in the morning we were struck by the mass of people queuing up, eager to get their hands on their chosen pairs they all huddled around the door waiting for their names to be called out. Needless to say, we sold within the space of 2 hours leaving no-one empty handed.

BAPE and UNDFTD have been working with adidas originals on opposite sides of the world since the respective launches of both seminal streetwear brands. with unique perspectives – largely shaped by their home cities of Tokyo and Los Angeles – the merging of the two streetwear heavyweights for adidas has them creating three Consortium shoes, continuing the growth of a partnership that has already spawned some classic pieces.

The union brings a strong army influence done tastefully using BAPE’s signature camoflauge print, blocks of khaki, taupe and off white, the occasional splash of bright colour and special gold leaf detailing on suede – a rare execution. Two favourite adidas styles have been given the midas touch: the Campus and ZX 5000 and as always for Consortium, premium materials are used throughout, such as super soft leather and suede.

The khaki Campus will only be available at No. 6 London, No. 74 Berlin, No.42 Paris, BAPE and UNDFTD, while the black Campus and ZX 5000 will be at these stores and select Consortium partner boutiques.

Over the past two decades, sneaker boutique hanon Shop has cultivated itself a reputation as one of the prime retailers of rare shoes and covetable collabs. adidas has enjoyed a tight relationship with owners and brothers Ed and Brian Toft, and now the brands respectfully join forces for Consortium SS13 with a shoe that’s been off the radar for some time, the adidas Centaur.

The pack pays tribute to hanon’s hometown of Aberdeen – The Silver City! Both the colourway and material application are inspired by the city’s surroundings which were historically built from locally quarried granite. A town of two faces, in the winter Aberdeen can feel quite bleak, whilst in summer the buildings come alive and evoke a silver charm that gives the architecture of the city its unique warmth and character.

Executed in suede, mesh and nubuck, the grey upper of the shoe model depicts the seasonal change of Aberdeen’s landscape. At the rear of the shoe there is a dark grey suede with a heavy nap representing the gloom of winter which is offset by a dual layered silver mesh and light grey nubuck that leans towards the fairer months of the year. Additional features appear by way of Aberdeen’s red accents, ‘granite’ three stripes and multi print sock liner. The detail on the stripes was created by applying a mirror image print of the grain on the stonework at our warehouse to a black 3M reflective material, while the footbed and tongue backer draws inspiration from adidas’ archive boxes and tissue paper.

Further detail on the shoe appears in the form of dual branding via debossed heel tabs and embroidered Consortium tongue pulls. The hanon flame appears on the left shoe whilst the classic adidas Trefoil is applied on the right. Finally, each hanon Centaur comes with silver foil footbed labels, three sets of laces – one tonal, one contrast and one with a reflective weave.

A special edition dust bag and Bespoke Hanon tee will be available with a number of pairs for the launch of the trainer.

The adidas x Consortium Centaur will be released at hanon Shop, Aberdeen, hanon-shop.com, No. 6 London, No. 74 Berlin, on January 26^th 2013. From February 2^nd the pack will be available at selected Consortium stockists.

Second of all, we’ve just received some fresh stock, including the Tech Super, Gazelle Indoor and a new colourway of the Torsion Allegra.

We’re more than happy that adidas have dug up two of their early 90′s running gems from their deep archive and the return of the Tech Super and Torsion Allegra have been welcomed back with open arms. We will be stocking a few more colourways of the Tech Super and Torsion Allegra along with some more stock next week, so keep your eyes on the blog for updates.
